- Overview:
The Automation Systems Specialist is charged with the management and administration of Company Automation Systems and Services. This position works closely with the Projects Team and the Field Operations Team to manage and maintain the Clients Automation Systems and Services, which includes: the different OPC Server, OSI PI servers and databases, the Iconics HMI Systems and the different database servers running in Automation environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provides expertise for the maintenance and support of the different field automation systems
- Works in close coordination with members of the US and region based network and security support groups to provide a reliable and professional working environment
- Installs, configures, upgrades, troubleshoots and maintains the standards using defined procedures and processes
- Provides expertise for the maintenance and support for the integration between the Clients automation systems and the different systems interacting with it on both the Client automation network and the business network
- Works with Clients based network and security personnel to implement changes, troubleshoot and repair malfunctions and optimize performance
- Works with local telecom providers to implement new data/voice circuits, make changes, troubleshoot and repair malfunctions to provide a stable and optimized telecom environment
- Develops detailed work schedules and writes status reports to keep management apprised of the status of the Automation environment
- Monitors the Automation environment resource utilization and stability to create maintenance and upgrade plans or corrective action plans to ensure the environment performs to corporate standards
- Identifies new opportunities to improve business and IT process and efficiency
- Provides analysis of business requirements and translates them into technical requirements
- Creates test environments for the Automation applications
- Provides second level support for issues not resolvable by the Service Desk
- Provides project management for new implementations
- Develops/maintains essential support documentation for Automation landscape
- Adheres Client and IT Policies, Standards and Compliance practices at all times
- Represents IT in a professional and ethical manner at all times
- Successfully completes other duties as assigned
